No! But it makes a LOT of sense considering the script structure. I feel like I should've known that cuz its too campy to just be a film.

Yeah I've never seen the play or movie (although I want to because I've loved Lauren Ambrose since Can't Hardly Wait), but in my Theatre 101 class we had to read Psycho Beach Party. My teacher said it was a satire of the Gidget movies.

i LOVE psycho beach party!

the writer/director of the movie (charles busch - the red headed cop) also wrote and directed another movie DIE, MOMMIE, DIE! with natasha lyonne and jason priestley. i haven't seen it in a long time though.
