Due South reminded me that I wanted to talk about Kommissar Rex. I haven't seen that many episodes of it myself, but our German teacher used to get us to watch it all quite often and I always enjoyed it. The english title of the show is "Inspector Rex ( Read more... )

Ahh, Inspector Rex...two of my friends that watch it don't stop talking about it the next day!! They say it's "so bad it's good"!! I would watch it, but we don't get good SBS reception at all, and so it's really frustrating to watch...

yeah, it is sort of like that, so bad it's good. I mean... It has some really quite good crimes and mysteries and the humans are cool. Then it's this random lassie situation where the dog does half the work. And no one really notices. It's like 'thanks for solving the crime, Rex! Have a ham roll! Good dog! What would we do without you!' and no one notices how strange the situation is. I mean it's not like he talks, or taps his feet to count or something... but that dog knows way too much. But I like it anyway!

can they tape it for you? And it *is* on dvd... I saw it the other day. But of course you'd probably want to watch some before you invest.

:D We used to have to watch it in class. We'd watch with the subtitles but we did pick up stuff. Sometimes she'd show us the first part without subtitles, then we'd watch the whole thing with subtitles, to see how we went with understanding.
It's not actually a comedy though. Which is the weird thing about it.

That sounds like the french videos we used to have to watch. There were these video exams, where we'd have to watch something and answer questions periodically throughout the video. The questions were really difficult because they were just said out loud, not shown on the screen. The videos were so hilarious, which made it even harder to answer the questions. It's hard to concentrate and laugh at the same time! :P

There are MA-rated episodes of Kommissar Rex? If only my mum had known, I'd never been allowed to watch it. I was kind of addicted to it when I was 10.

Now the only way I could watch it is the Italian version (of course I don't understand a thing)

Well, I don't think it's aired in Germany at the moment, but I have this strange Italian TV station called RAI, and whenever I skip over it, I see Kommissar Rex.

I know the show, but I dont think I'v ever really watched it...

Fair enough. I think it's pretty cool.
