Alterations Lady

Busy evening. So my bridesmaids dress for Tiffany's wedding arrived today, and I went to get it adjusted. I took my bridal gown along to get an estimate as Tiffany is so happy with hers. My dress is gone, staying with the alterations lady till probably a week before the wedding. *sad sigh* I'm used to seeing it's box sitting in the closet every ( Read more... )

Did you order the dress from David's bridal? They always make errors. They are evil. I'm sorry you are going to be in the less than optimal dress. At least your beautiful wedding dress will be FANTASTIC!

Alfred Angelo actually, yeah, I'm a little sad I won't look as nice, but it would have been MAJOR alterations to tried to loosen/shorten the bodice that I did get.

I'm very excited about my wedding gown, the Alterations woman said it was lovely, which I'm sure she says to every bride, but that additional vindication was nice. Now I need to decide my stance on Modesty panels. =-P

What are Modesty panels? Something to do with the dress? I know bustles and darts and other dress making terms, but modesty panels I do not know.

It's corset laced in the back, so you can have it open with skin peeking through in the back, or you can have white pannels that button in under the lacing so there is no skin peeking through - that piece of fabric is your modesty panel. Mine comes in 2 peices, so you can cover up to about 6 inches above the but, or about 12 inches above the butt. My seamstress also sometimes removes them completely and just makes a tiny one that goes higher than your underwear, exposing most of the skin of the back through the lacings. =-)

I tried that for a previous wedding (dermablend I think) and I'm so pale and the tattoo has yellows which are hard to cover that I caked so much on to get it to hide the tattoo that it didn't look good any more. =-P I'll just leave it showing since the bride doesn't care too much.

What a pain that they didn't send the correct top!!! I'm glad Tiff can work with the colors, though.

I need to get back on a diet of some sorts, too. Today (this morning) I plan on doing some sit-ups and push-ups. Tomorrow starts back on the Debbie Seiber's DVD. :/

I had a banana for breakfast and instead of getting a bag of $.50 chips for my sandwich with lunch I brought tomato soup from home. Dinner will probably be a simple ham & cheese or grilled cheese sandwich.

I like both tops, but it does seem like this one was intended to be *really* snug! I hope that it's not uncomfortable on the day. You'll look beautful in either one! :-)

We'll see, I'm not a skinny girl, so I felt better in the looser more flowy top than the skin-tight one.
