My butt, it was kicked by work, but I suppose running around a tiny cafe for eight hours tends to have some sort of health benefit?
Also, I created just enough space in my room to be able to set up my DDR mat, was gifted a YMCA membership, and discovered I could run for at least three solid minutes without really feeling like I was going to die! :D
The good: + Ran 4.5 miles without stopping at all on Tuesday + Pretty heavy weightlifting on Wednesday + Biked 22 miles total on Friday, with a stop for weightlifting + Ran 2 miles on a route near our house yesterday, to start getting legs into shape for outdoor running
The bad: + Way too much beer this weekend! + Also a lot of crappy food + The gym closed early on Memorial Day, so no weightlifting yesterday
It was a holiday weekend, so I don't really feel all that bad about having a bit of partying going on! XD The most important thing, I think, was our outside run. We mapped out a route for 2mi total, 2.7mi total, and 3.5mi total (on bikes), but decided to start slow, since Jeff get shin splints, I have a bad ankle, and my asthma was on fire from all of Ohio going HEY ITS SPRING!!!!!! in my face.
No real plans for this week, other than just keeping with the usual.
I was in OH for most of the week, so unfortunately there was limited exercise (does karaoke count??) and more than normal food and beer! So to try to get back into it, I went on a ride today. It was only 4 miles, but about 3 of that is uphill. Hills are still really hard. This 20 minute ride was harder than the hour and a half ride I did the weekend before. This week I want to do some running and more cycling since I can't swim for another week or two. I also need to start working some strength training into the routine... so much to do!!
YES, KARAOKE TOTALLY COUNTS. I was out doing exactly that last weekend, too. I think these weekly updates should start including "hours spent at karaoke bar."
