14 - Have you ever been alone in a crowded room?

Dec 27, 2008 02:49

Our housing is a castle. How ironic. The Gods must be laughing right now. My punishment, it seems, or so everything tells me to think.

Medics? I'm always available to take a shift if I'm not on guard duty... Actually, I beg you to ask me if you need help.

The Gods punish those who ignore their Gifts...

... I don't think you are being punished. If so, then it is both of us.

And I doubt gods have anything to do with it, Honor.

I refused to practice the gift I was given. In this vision...

[pause]

The gods have everything to do with where I'm from, I think. Perhaps it's misplaced, but the woman seemed to know what she was talking about by warning me of the gods' wrath for the ungrateful mortals.

It seems to me anyone who really believes in religion would appear to be certain, whether or not what they said was actually true.

What vision? And what gift?

[she begins to pen an answer to this, and has 'pick your battles' thoughts, before proceeding onto the other questions]

I was hit on the head this morning when I entered the Hall of Beginnings by a crystal that triggered a vision of a castle with a woman... cutting my hair and talking to me. I knew it was me because in the vision, I looked in the mirror. I had a twin brother.

And 'gift'... It's a word my Other used to describe my magic. Healing, this woman told me, was very strong in me. Healing and killing, I suppose she means either the fire-throwing or swordsmanship.

The entire Sphere is punished then.

What has you so agitated?

<333 that's alright. healing_death December 27 2008, 09:46:40 UTC
Perhaps that's why we're all here, then. A different sort of after-life.

It's... I really had a twin brother... And I'm supposed to use my magic to heal people, and I haven't been.

I am not fond of the idea of this place as an afterlife but then again I am not entirely fond of this place to begin with.

Well you did not know. Information to use for the future.

Nor am I, though at this rate, it seems more like a home than my vision would indicate of a castle.

Of course.

Because we are given a gift, it is our obligation to use it. Do you think this is true, or is it possible to selfishly cheat fate?

I think it's how it should work. Given something free of charge, you should help others by using it.

What if you aren't sure you agree with the way your gift is intended to be used?

Benefit others with it, whether that was the original intent for it or not.

I can heal, apparently, but I can also throw fire. What does that say about my gift? I think it says that I can help or hurt, but, in the end, it's my choice.

I am sure that Lezard would welcome the assistance at the clinic - we are often short-handed.

Right, Lezard

I'd appreciate it.
