Bart had hardly left Nita's side as he waited for her to wake, but he had to eat, drink, shower, and other things. As he walked back, he saw Jill, and walked over.
"Hey," he said, softly, putting a hand on her shoulder. The bandaged knuckles were obvious, but it wasn't worth hiding, any more than the bruises. He'd deserved it. He'd failed.
"Jill?" Bart said, squeezing the shoulder he'd put his hand on. "C'mon, this isn't funny." There was something wrong, and he wasn't sure he could deal with more.

She blinked when he touched her, but she didn't feel him. Didn't react. Didn't look at him, just... sat.
Trying to deal. Trying to... understand. Deal with everything. Not panic.
