But I'm only going to give it to you when you put your shirt back on. My little sisters might be watching this, you know. [He's teasing, Jim! It's no real big thing, as evidenced by his snickering.]

Nope, let's go -- I'm glad to help out. [He scratches his arm.] I did some metal work back home. I've been hoping to do a little more here, but I haven't found a good place to set up.

Seems like something that'd be hard to supply. [Jim will go ahead and start leading he way back to his place.] Useful, though.

I don't know, man. There's wood for the stoves and lots and lots of scrap. I think the hardest part would be finding an anvil and a stove and maybe some of the tools, but it's not really a longshot here, I don't think. [Look on the bright side, right?] Not by far.

I'll take your word for it, then. You know this place better than me. [He grins. He can be optimistic, for now.]

Hey, it won't be long before you're there, trust me. [Sokka kicked at a stone on the path and watched it skitter away.] Did you work with your hands a lot where you came from?

I used to, when I was younger. Now, I'm mostly supposed to shout orders at people and get a little physical labor in when I can. I like getting a little work in, though. It's good for you. Not sure how good I'm going to be at keeping out from underfoot, when I get back to my ship.

You have a ship? [That certainly interests Sokka. He's imagining a sailing ship in his mind.] Is it big? Must be, if you've got a crew to order around. Are you a captain?

It's pretty large, yeah. [He grins. He'll refrain from telling Sokka it flies through space and has a crew of about five hundred.] Captains are generally the people giving orders.

That's not always true -- sometimes the first mate gives the orders. [But, you know, that doesn't really matter, since it's just semantics.] You look pretty young to be a captain.

Youngest Captain in the fleet. [He winks. Sure, maybe he cheated a little, and maybe it's still an unsteady position until he really proves himself, but damnit he's smug.]

[Sokka's impressed, though he's not quite sure why Jim's winking at him. He raises an eyebrow.] Something wrong with your eye?
