Ooh, ooh, yeah. That happened when I got my body back! Nations only disappear when they die, you know, but in Mayfield, we die like humans do. It's not pretty...

[ Personal experince haha useless nation bodies... ]

[ because it's true (nottalking) does she have to cut herself to show you... ]

I'm okay! [ l i e s ] I can't wait for my next package! I bet it's gonna be really cool this time, 'cause I bet the past few days were really horrible, too. [ I bet, because she doesn't know, exactly. ]

smiling and nodding!! la la everything's fine...]

Well, they certainly weren't a picnic by any [sane] person's standards.....what are you hoping you'll get?

I don't know. I've already got the best thing I could have. ... I hope it'll be something that can cheer everybody up!

Do you now......then I'm happy for you. And that's a sweet thing to hope for; I, too, will hope that's what it'll be.

Thank you. [ She chuckles. Then she asks this: ] So did Mami get anything like that from the mail? Something incomplete.

Well, it's just something I've been wondering about! All I got back was a ring.

hwamei June 11 2011, 02:06:38 UTC
That ring must mean a lot to Mami, huh. It'd be horrible to get a broken ring back!

headedforhope June 11 2011, 02:56:57 UTC
Mmhmm, it's pretty important! I don't know what I'd do if it was broken.

With small things like that, Mami doesn't have to worry. Mayfield gives them back whole! But for bigger, more important things, they give it back piece by piece. Like, hmm... magic!

[ha....ha....]

Ah, so that's how it works! Interesting; that detail wasn't mentioned to me before, just that our things would eventually return to us.

There are some things you never get back, though. [ Your land, your people, your freedom, for example, but Taiwan doesn't elaborate. ] It depends from person to person, but most of the time, they're the ones that matter the most.

That certainly fits in with the logic of this place, huh?

hwamei June 13 2011, 14:23:52 UTC
Mm. They want us to think of Mayfield as our home, don't they? I can't do that, though. That would be... the ultimate betrayal! Or something.

Not to mention pretty stupid! Even if we went along with what they wanted, it's not like that would keep us safe or happy.
