Well, if something's really fucking powerful, they usually give it in bits and pieces. Like, I've only got some of my powers back. I don't know how you can only get back part of a weapon, though; that seems pretty fucking useless.

[potty mouth W H Y]

Maybe that wasn't the best example, but I hope it got the point across well enough.

So that's the case, huh? I guess it would be pretty naive to hope to get it all back at once....

[THIS IS HOW GROWNUPS TALK]

I think the only way to get a lot of shit back at once is the Post Office, but it's kinda a bullshit deal.

[After Mami collects herself- as she inevitably does, as she must, as she can't afford to do otherwise -she'll notice Rin. And she'll think to herself.

Is she passing a silent judgement behind those carefully blank gold eyes? Rin's name was on the plaque, after all; each name, though, has been committed to memory, so it's not like Rin with her single kill really stands out. But maybe none of that matters. Nothing shows in Mami's face, anyway, when she approaches the older girl and nods politely.]

Idle curiosity, if anything. And yourself?

[Calm gaze, steady voice. She can almost pretended that the pressing, choking fear of the last few days never existed.]

I've never heard of Mayfield giving back a piece of a weapon or half a suit, but there are other items they'll find the need to give us in an incomplete increments.

Poor examples, I guess. My apologies- it looks like my inexperience with these matters is showing.

Other items, miss?

Have you? I'd appreciate details, if that would be all right; I haven't been here too long, so I'm glad to learn what I can.

I'm afraid I can't recall any details.

C /rolls nervously. you got leo's first tag! reusing June 7 2011, 06:41:41 UTC
[Leo woke up in Mayfield that morning, and let's just say he finds everything crazier than he ever would like. He's still pretty sure this is some mad dream induced from Gaea crazy... Or maybe he actually managed to fry his brain with all that fire. What he did know was that this felt real, but there was no way it could be happening.

So he's doing the natural Leo thing: Running from the crazy things and trying to find Piper and Jason... Even Annabeth would do! Or that horse guy, but then he sees Mami and her glowing soul gym. His footing stopped and, despite himself, in natural Leo fashion he hit rock bottom. Oh god. And he'll call out!]

Hey. Where'd you get that fancy light? Didn't think this place had anything like it.

[She slowly turns to regard him, smile tightening just a little. Her cupped hands close completely around the gem, blocking off it's glow.]

Just a little something from home. What're you doing out at this hour- insomnia?

[He grins with a shrug, hands stuffed in whatever pockets he has.]

You could say that. What about you? Didn't think girls liked wandering around in dark places-- maybe I can help you out.

I've always thought that it's not the darkness itself that's scary, but what it might hide.

[Unseen, the gem turns back into a ring, so that her hands seem empty when she folds her arms.]

As for me? Well, I've always liked the night air. You can walk with me, if you'd like.
