Very true, but this is the issue, see, he believes that life starts at conception. Even though these embryos were created in a lab in a test tube then frozen, his definition can call them life. Lets not forget that he vetoed the bill with 17 families of snowflake babies- ie embryos that were not used and were going to be destroyed but later adopted and carried to birth. Granted I am a pro life advocate, I think this definition is going overboard for the situation in which he was presented. I am not going to start a religious/philosophical/scientific advancement debate now, but I will say this, no matter what the party, you got to give him credit for standing by his position for 5.5 years when polls show that 60-70% of the public believes in stem cell research. Its one of the few issues in which he has not flip flopped.

if you look at the text of the bill, these embryos will be thrown in the trash, why not use them for good.
on one hand, we can throw life(by bush's def.) into the trash
on the other hand, we can use that same life(still bush's def.) to save life

i vote the latter

remeber in ap gov when you agreed with me vs bomgaars... well its time for me to return the favor... Jesse- life does begin at conception... but these embryos were already created to try to give a family the right to love a child. the embryos at a fertility clinic were not capapble of living on its own. it needs a woman to have this life... so using the embryo to help give someone a chance at a longer life is a much more noble cause than letting the embryos do nothing... in the bottom of a garbage.
