Smoke filled rooms lit by dim lights that only dragged even more attention to the stage full of dancing men and women. The world of Burlesque was a sensual artistic and bold creature brought from the underbelly of vaudeville and into the limelight of mankind's love of the pure decadence of dance and song ( Read more... )

Selene loved being watched, admired, more than anything else. It was her love for attention that had tugged her towards the art... The want to have others pay attention to her, as many did when looking at the moon. Her pale, slender figure was draped in pearls and framed carefully with a silk costume. The stilettos she wore had her teetering precariously, but the moon Goddess didn't skip a beat.

She played with the large feather fans, moving them in ways that required practice and skill. Her body undulated when not hidden behind the large fans and when she covered the view of her form once more, one slender leg poked through, the soft feathers tickling her thigh.

When she finally had the opportunity to take a more thorough look at her audience, she caught his eye. Her lips quirked into a sly little smile as she continued the routine she'd worked so hard on, but maintained as much eye contact with the other God as he'd allow.

Morpheus gave his fellow deity a disarming smile and rested back onto the bar and crossed his legs. She had his complete and full attention-something which had she been mortal, could be a very dangerous thing.

The feathers and pearls contrasted beautifully with her complexion, glinting against the spot light in a distracting disarray as her body moved in choreographed complexity. She was a beautiful creature, an he'd be hard pressed to forget it.

A few of the moves were done with an extra 'oomf' once Selene was sure she had his full attention. Had she been a mortal, the smile would have caused a falter in her step, she was sure of it... But the Moon Goddess thanked the lucky stars that she was not prone to such silly reactions, and instead concentrated even more on the performance...

And the applause that followed the end of it. Fans aside, she dipped into a mix of a pliet and curtsy, bowing her head in thanks, before slipping off the stage. She delighted in the applause that continued, and even more in the unnecessarily long time it took her to put the feather fans away and slip a silk half-robe over her shoulders.

After what may have very well been an eternity, she slipped back into the crowd, which now died down to give another girl their attention, and wound her way to Morpheus.

Smirking Morpheus cast his eyes over her and reached out with a friendly hand as she neared his space. As soon as she was close enough he took her hand, bowed slightly and placed a feather like and gentlemanly kiss to her skin.

"You never cease to amaze me Goddess."
