That list is a good one, full of nice, broad ideas.
I like the quote, too (though sometimes I would beg to differ!). I agree that you can't possibly end up hating everything you write, and even writing badly is a good learning curve as long as you recognise it.
Also, the more you write, the more you can see your progress, which is really motivating (for me, at least).
It's always easier to edit rubbish words than write new ones on a blank page. Words are words!

I totally agree w/ this... I look back at my earlier works and def. see how I am sort of better than what I used to be.
I want to keep writing - even if I don't publish something I wrote right away - b/c I need to stay into the hang of things.
