Tired of hearing pep talks from his friends, Harry Apparated far from civilisation for an afternoon. There was nothing for it. Harry had a crush on the biggest prat that had ever lived, and even if Harry wanted to try and ask him out he'd be refused. He could have almost anyone else in the world, but he could have what he wanted. Because it required Malfoy to no longer be Malfoy. Would he want him anymore if he wasn't?
Would he want him anymore if he wasn't?
Best not to go down that path. It only lead to insanity.
Harry flew around the country side until he was ready to face his friends again. His overly supportive friends and their overly supportive pep talks.
Harry looked at Draco with probably more seriousness than the situation deserved. "You can do this. Take a breath and focus. The control is in your hands." Draco looked at Harry with a look that was far, far more serious than the situation deserved. "All you have to do is let your instincts control your movements."
Draco's grip tightened on the object in his hand and he leaned in to give Harry a short kiss, hard, as if he was going off to war. "Okay. I can do this."
"Yes, yes you can," Harry said with a fondness in his tone.
Another deep breath and then Draco was going to sit back down on the couch, restarting his Mario Kart game for what felt like the millionth time. He was going to beat the time on this course though. He was going to. Merlin, he was going to or die trying and at this point he wasn't sure which would happen first.
just the first thing that comes to mind when I think about a pep talk ;)
"You look great dear with the new glasses and the fitting clothes, who knew you were hiding that under the baggy things. Well just the hair is hopeless. But then again who is perfect. Your young man will love you! Go get him!"
Harry groaned out loud. Now even the mirror thought he needed a pep talk before he worked up the nerve to ask Draco out on a date!
“You can do it,” Harry whispered to himself, over and over again, his voice bouncing off the walls of the almost empty corridor.
A group of third year Slytherins stared at him as they walked by but Harry paid them no heed. He was on a mission that he’d talked himself out of many times in the past.
“It won’t be painful, just do it,” he chanted to himself as he walked along the library aisles, “it’ll be easier than killing a dark wizard. Or dying, it’s definitely easier than dying.”
As he reached the last aisle, Harry looked up to see if there was anyone else there besides the one person he’d been looking for.
He took a deep breath and kept walking till he reached the last table. Without waiting for a chance to be interrupted Harry blurted out, “Draco, would you like to go to Hogsmeade with me?”
