Thank you! Obviously I like Snermione too: I can't imagine why someone as smart as Hermione would have any interest in Ron. :)

Draco is so out of control here: once he's in power, he has no clue what to do with it. I'm glad you picked up on that.

There is something so terribly melancholy about this story that I can't help but feel both Harry and Draco's pain. Harry in particular seems so detached from everything, so at odds with the new world in which he has to learn to live, and after their struggles as a trio I find it sad that Ron and Hermione have stopped watching out for their friend. It becomes apparent as the story progresses that Harry is in a 'bad' place, and it's only thanks to Draco's typically selfish behaviour that we are gifted the ability to recognise his fragmenting state of mind ( ... )

You understand this story very well. The war leaves Harry with a sense of futility instead of triumph, and Draco is a broken man, bereft of the glory he'd expected as his due. It's his ego that won't allow him to submit to Harry, and it's only when his resistance is broken that he can truly be himself, as we see at the end.

Thanks so much for your insightful review, and also for the ridiculous amount of work you put in to editing and betaing. It wouldn't be the same without your effort. ♥
