This was a lovely story; I love hurt/comfort fics, and this one was really rich and warm. I've always imagined that Harry would be damaged in some way after he killed Voldemort; his life prior to that was just too abnormal for any child. But I always hope he pulls himself together, and the fact that he was able to at least start doing that here, with Draco's help, makes it even sweeter.

yay for RENT icon!
Thank you so much! It's always hard to take hurting characters right down to the bottom, but once they're there, going up is the only option. I'm glad Draco was there to catch him too.

great read. i loved the description of draco zooming in on the motorbike, and of harry's emotions when draco came over to his table. the awkwardness between them in the awards room was really well done, and the want and need between them was palpable. the depiction of harry's pain was eloquent and vivid, and draco's character was completely sweet. *squishes him*

fav lines:

Harry took a threatening step forward and felt his magic move with him, swirling unseen around his ankles, his legs, winding up his torso and sliding down his stiff arms to wait under the skin of his fingertips. It was recognizable power and it was all his. He felt his hair lift as it danced over his skin and made a home for itself.

amazing depiction of harry's magic.

and

After a few healing charms and something to settle his head and stomach, he was standing at Draco's door, weary and more broken than an empty man had any right being.

love the last part of that sentence.

Ok, first, for commenting with your favorite lines - thank you so much. That really means the world to me. *hugs*

I remember reading other fics and loving how the authors brought the unseen to life, like magic, emotions and even objects. I've been challenging myself to do that as well - drag the reader right under the character's skin until we can feel what they're feeling. It's so much fun! :D

Go fanon!Draco. So glad you liked him. :)
*hugs*
Thanks again

No joke? This is how I wished Draco and Harry reacted like at the end.

Ohh...very interesting how Harry and Draco are brought together. I like how Hermione was the link to both of them and that was done very well. The emotions were very raw and also worked well with linking to Draco's cause. Angstttt! I almost wish we could find out more about how Draco will help Harry heal. Nice work!

Thank you!
I felt bad for leaving Ron out of the picture fo the most part, but I felt that Hermione was really the only adult in the building that could pull it off. Also, I figured she would be stubborn enough never to give up on Harry.

I think Draco just being there now will give HArry a reason to get up in the morning. Eventually, I hope he'll get interested in Draco's work with muggle-borns, or find a avenue that really suits him and goes for it. I think he'll start to trust again, smile more, and maybe even find a way to come to peace with his lost childhhod.

Thanks again, so much.
