This was posted mere seconds after I decided it was well past the time to go to bed - but I thought "what is the harm of reading the first few paragraphs?" Much harm - I couldn't stop reading and was up much later than I intended to finish it. I loved the bedside confessions. The acceptance and moving on. Draco not wanting to kiss Harry whilst disguised. All so very good - I think my favorite part of it is the post-battle weariness that you described. It captured those immediate moments after the fall of Voldemort so perfectly, probably the best that I have ever read.

This is wonderful. Mistaken identity and forced proximity and Draco fumbling to redeem himself all in one, and done with such a loving, in character, canon feel - I am a happy camper. Draco and his desire to be brave was heartbreaking and perfect. His relationship with Narcissa was done particularly beautifully and I couldn't get enough of it; him calling her "mummy," and wanting to be as brave as her, and that whole scene...♥ ♥ ♥ I had to push my laptop to the side and put my face in my hands.

There are just so many little things in this fic I loved! Draco thinking about Tonks and how he wanted to be a metamorphmagus as a child. The bedside confessions. The muggle books. Harry's confused rage over Draco's supposed betrayal, and his confused mourning over Draco's supposed death - sigh, so good and so Harry, like everything about him in this fic. I loved him reminiscing about Weasley Is Our King.

My only complaint about this fic is I didn't want it to end! I could have read on for ages. ♥

I quite enjoyed this. Everyone’s characterization was believable. I am left wondering why Kingsley and McGonagall didn’t tell Harry about Draco to begin with. Draco wanting to be brave makes perfect sense. I’m glad he got his chance.
