I saw an impressive Hogwarts crest done with cupcakes at geekcrafts a while ago. I think that had even more detail than this one.

I'm so glad you liked it - I had a great time with your prompt!
You asked about my recipe. It's actually Wilton's. (1/2 cup each of butter and Crisco, 1 tsp. clear vanilla, 1 lb. confectioner's sugar, and 2 Tbsp. milk or corn syrup- makes about 3 cups of icing) Use corn syrup if you'll be doing "stringwork". It hangs together better with less breakage.
