Harry stared at the entrance, frozen.
Two years. It had been that long since last he'd seen Draco. Two years full of regret and emptiness. So much left unsaid, left undone.
For three years they'd worked together. It had taken them six months to have a civil conversation without awkwardness. Another six to become friends.
About a year later, Harry realised that he felt more. Much more. When his attraction to Draco had begun, Harry didn't know. But once he realised it, Harry had thought of little else.
Afraid to ruin the friendship they had, Harry hadn't acted on his feelings. He had pushed his Gryffindor desire to do something aside, in favour of keeping what little they had. And then it had been too late. Without a word, Draco was gone.
Now, looking across the room, Harry felt his suppressed emotions well up inside him. Draco looked even better than in all of Harry's memories. Tall and lean, dressed in a charcoal suit, hair brushing his shoulders, radiating confidence, Draco looked … perfect.
By the time Draco caught his eye and smiled, Harry was halfway across the room. This time, Harry wasn't waiting.
