Rosemonde flew with all her heart, beating the air with her mighty wings…. They crossed the Channel.… Hogwarts finally came into view.
There was chaos at the castle - a huge battle being fought outside on the grounds. Not only wizards but giants, centaurs, suits of armor, spiders - general pandemonium. Rosemonde whinnied to the silent skeletal flying horses…. Jets of curse light shot everywhere….
“Harry!” Draco swerved the chariot down.
“Going to run away now, little boy?” Voldemort sneered.
“Trust me, just for a moment,” Draco said, pulling an astounded Harry into the chariot. Rosemonde turned and rose.
“Draco! You’re here!” Awe lit Harry’s features. “But I have to go back. It has to be me, I have to try to finish this.”
“I know. I’ll bring you. But you need my wand.”
“You want to give me your wand?” Harry looked puzzled.
“I can’t give it to you, but you need it. Do you think I want you to have what you need?” That was as plain as he dared to be, wand transfer was so tricky. Draco gripped his wand. Just take it, Harry.
Harry read his eyes, pulled hard and yanked the wand from Draco’s grasp. He thrust some other wand… into Draco’s hand. Then Harry pulled him into a fierce kiss.
Rosemonde had pulled them high, high up, and the sound of the battle was covered by the wind rushing in their ears. Wind and soaring and sunshine and a kiss in Harry’s arms. That would do.
Note: Rosemonde is an Abraxan (flying horse); Draco lost the use of his legs from the Sectumsempra curse 6th year.

He was swimming underwater, deep in the lake, breathing as easily as in air, while schools of gorgeous fish darted around him, striped and speckled, yellow and turquoise and orange and rose. There was a flash of brilliance ahead that he knew was the most beautiful fish of all….
Finally he was within reach - he stretched out a hand to touch its tail, and found he was grasping a human foot. The fish had turned into a young man, who spun about and turned towards him. Alarmed, he swam backwards, with the man in pursuit. The stranger reached out a hand to stroke his leg, then propelled himself backwards, beckoning. Hair swirled around his face, so Harry couldn’t see his eyes, but his smile looked teasing and playful.
“Oh, it’s a game,” Harry thought, and swam after him. He caught the man around his slim waist, pulling him close, wrapping his arms around him to keep him from wriggling away. They were both naked, their legs twining together as they spun easy and weightless in the water, laughing, floating up into brightness, the other man’s hands stroking up and down Harry’s backside, twisting into his hair, pulling him into a kiss. Their bodies now hungry for each other, they slid together in a rhythm that grew faster and more demanding, pressing and moving against each other with delirious urgency, his lover’s face pulling back for a moment to shake fine blond hair out of grey eyes before closing in again with a kiss of such sweet heat that it pulled a hot spurt of climax from Harry as he clung to this one human anchor in a bright whirling world.

"I was dressed extremely formally, even by your standards. You were dressed in Muggle clothing: black slacks and a black jumper. I saw that your hair was very long and pulled back. You were taller than you are now and your eyes even bluer. You were about ten years older than you are now, and so was I. You had one ear pierced and the earring was shaped like a lightning bolt. My back was tingling as the Phoenix moved. It was as if we hadn't seen each other in quite awhile.
"You led me to a door where a waiter stood. You practically pulled me into the room and shut the door, almost in the waiter's face. I remember seeing the dinner and wine on the table and the Eiffel Tower through the window. The next thing I knew, I was facing the door, naked and lubed. You told me to reach for the bar over the top of door. I could only reach it by standing on the tips of my toes. You then stood behind me and shoved your dick up my arse in one thrust. I screamed, but not in pain. You pulled my hair back and yelled, "If you ever fucking stay away that long again, I will kill you." and then you fucked me. I won't say made love, because it was almost as if you were punishing me. But I remember in my dream liking it as you drove into me again and again. "Put your hands back up against the wall, Draco." … He reaches high on the wall, one hand above the other, and drops his head back. He is a beautiful study in shadow and smooth white, the dawn beginning to glow on warm skin.
… Harry's fingers rest on Draco's waistband, tugging down in suggestion. Draco inhales, and Harry's breath hitches, suspended, waiting.
"Draco?" Harry asks, and Draco is still, deciding, but then he moves and reaches down to his belt. The buckle makes a clanking noise in the quiet. … Harry guides and helps as Draco tugs his trousers and pants down below his bum. Draco's breath is fast, and a pink blush stains the back of his neck.

Draco’s flying lesson is just as easily disrupted when a delighted Stanley begins to scuttle around in his first snow, leaping into small drifts, chasing snowflakes and tacking excitedly.
“Alright, can we pay attention, please?” Draco calls, secretly just as charmed as the others by Stanley’s enthusiasm.
He thinks he gets about ten minutes out of the shivering students before Stanley once again demands everyone’s attention. Draco turns, exasperated, to see him attempting to climb Harry’s legs, flapping his wings and tacking to be picked up.
“I can’t,” Harry says reluctantly, and Draco knows how much he hates having to admit that his arms are still a little on the weak side. “You’re too heavy.”
“His feet are cold,” Laura Mearley says, and her classmates cluck sympathetically.
As Draco watches Stanley picking up his little feet one at a time and shaking them, he realises that she is right. Stanley obviously loves the snow, but his legs have not been built for cold weather.
“Oh, alright,” Harry sighs, bending and hoisting Stanley into his arms. He throws the long string over his shoulder, brushes the snow from Stanley’s shell and turns to Draco. “I’ll take him inside.”
“Thanks,” Draco says, watching the two of them walk away. As they disappear out of sight, Harry is holding Stanley up at eye-level and talking to him quite firmly.

He was drinking a cup of tea in a corner of the Manor's library. There weren't many rooms still furnished at the Manor, but this was one of them: normally Draco enjoyed spending time here, relaxing, surrounded by floor-to-ceiling shelves of books. The light from the window beside him was dim and he had lit a fire against the February chill. He was reading a book about ancient waterways, which was written in elegant English and which had absolutely nothing to do with ghosts or the wizarding world. His father would have been horrified to see the Muggle books now littering his library, even faded old Penguin paperbacks like this one. The book soothed Draco, and he felt content.
Slowly, Draco became aware of movement out of the corner of his eye. He looked up, expecting to see Spinks or Spungen, the only two house elves left at the Manor, but instead, there was Harry Potter, standing by the window. He looked like he always had: a little scruffy, but happy enough in himself. The only difference was a softness to his edges and a slight transparency about him. Draco was used to seeing ghosts - which were after all a normal part of the wizarding world, whatever the ones he met through work were like - but Potter didn't quite look like a ghost. There was too much... colour, too much life about him.
"Potter?" he called out, and Potter turned his head, looked straight at him, and vanished.

When he bumped into Malfoy again, he was shocked by what he saw. First of all, Malfoy was laughing, his head thrown back and mouth wide open. Secondly, he had his arm around Harry Potter's waist. He bought Greg a drink and apologised for being a prick to him. Greg could barely make out the words, as his brain struggled to catch up with the sight of Malfoy's fingers gently stroking the back of Potter's neck. By the time Malfoy was insisting that he call him Draco, and inviting him back for more drinks at the home he and Harry shared, you could have told Greg that Dumbledore had come back from the dead and was dressed in a bikini while dancing with a chicken, and he wouldn't have been surprised; anything seemed possible in that moment.

My back was tingling as the Phoenix moved. It was as if we hadn't seen each other in quite awhile.
"You led me to a door where a waiter stood. You practically pulled me into the room and shut the door, almost in the waiter's face. I remember seeing the dinner and wine on the table and the Eiffel Tower through the window. The next thing I knew, I was facing the door, naked and lubed. Draco’s flying lesson is just as easily disrupted when a delighted Stanley begins to scuttle around in his first snow, leaping into small drifts, chasing snowflakes and tacking excitedly.
“Alright, can we pay attention, please?” Draco calls, secretly just as charmed as the others by Stanley’s enthusiasm.
He thinks he gets about ten minutes out of the shivering students before Stanley once again demands everyone’s attention. Draco turns, exasperated, to see him attempting to climb Harry’s legs, flapping his wings and tacking to be picked up.
“I can’t,” Harry says reluctantly, and Draco knows how much he hates having to admit that his arms are still a little on the weak side. “You’re too heavy.”
“His feet are cold,” Laura Mearley says, and her classmates cluck sympathetically.
As Draco watches Stanley picking up his little feet one at a time and shaking them, he realises that she is right. Stanley obviously loves the snow, but his legs have not been built for cold weather.
“Oh, alright,” Harry sighs, bending and hoisting Stanley into his arms. He throws the long string over his shoulder, brushes the snow from Stanley’s shell and turns to Draco. “I’ll take him inside.”
“Thanks,” Draco says, watching the two of them walk away. As they disappear out of sight, Harry is holding Stanley up at eye-level and talking to him quite firmly.

He was drinking a cup of tea in a corner of the Manor's library. There weren't many rooms still furnished at the Manor, but this was one of them: normally Draco enjoyed spending time here, relaxing, surrounded by floor-to-ceiling shelves of books. The light from the window beside him was dim and he had lit a fire against the February chill. He was reading a book about ancient waterways, which was written in elegant English and which had absolutely nothing to do with ghosts or the wizarding world. His father would have been horrified to see the Muggle books now littering his library, even faded old Penguin paperbacks like this one. The book soothed Draco, and he felt content.
Slowly, Draco became aware of movement out of the corner of his eye. He looked up, expecting to see Spinks or Spungen, the only two house elves left at the Manor, but instead, there was Harry Potter, standing by the window. He looked like he always had: a little scruffy, but happy enough in himself. The only difference was a softness to his edges and a slight transparency about him. Draco was used to seeing ghosts - which were after all a normal part of the wizarding world, whatever the ones he met through work were like - but Potter didn't quite look like a ghost. There was too much... colour, too much life about him.
"Potter?" he called out, and Potter turned his head, looked straight at him, and vanished.

When he bumped into Malfoy again, he was shocked by what he saw. First of all, Malfoy was laughing, his head thrown back and mouth wide open. Secondly, he had his arm around Harry Potter's waist. He bought Greg a drink and apologised for being a prick to him. Greg could barely make out the words, as his brain struggled to catch up with the sight of Malfoy's fingers gently stroking the back of Potter's neck. By the time Malfoy was insisting that he call him Draco, and inviting him back for more drinks at the home he and Harry shared, you could have told Greg that Dumbledore had come back from the dead and was dressed in a bikini while dancing with a chicken, and he wouldn't have been surprised; anything seemed possible in that moment.
