My review of HP & the Deathly Hallows

Jul 25, 2007 18:45

I'm warning you now, there are spoilers in here.  So don't read it if you haven't finished the book and then complain to me.  I've warned you.  If you read it, it's your own fault.

Rather, I think I hate whoever it was that you got to write the book.

Why do I say that, you ask?

I think you were in a hurry to write this book, for whatever reason.  ( Read more... )

My thoughts on the book. 'Meh.' I'll never forgive her and hate her forever for killing Remus and making him marry that utterly useless whore Tonks.

Your ending catered to pretty much anyone - or at least you tried to make it that way.

That's what I thought too. She got too much influence from readers and so on that I'm almost positive she lost the original ending to the book. :/

Wasn't the last word of the book supposed to be "scar"? Am I the only one that remembers that?

I'm gonna have to go back and reread this because everyone is all "damn harry's dad and sirius were jerks" and i'm all "what? sorry too busy gushing over neville"

And I agree with what you said. It was lacking and it was lame in many many parts.

Neville was pretty awesome, though.

I'm sorry, but Tonks had a lot of potential. It's a shame that she was one of the few characters that didn't get some time in save for the last minute rush job of her stepping into fight. I think her purpose was also to show that people could look past the whole I'm a werewolf no one loves me deal.

Yeah, I was really really mad that she was ignore, not only in this book, but it book 6. She was a really good character that had a whole lot more potential than to just be used to make Lupin feel better about himself.

Also, we don't find out if Teddy has any werewolf characteristics.

THANK GOD. James Potter was a douche bag. I don't know how he and Lily ended up together. I wish she had explained that more.

I havent read it yet- I just wanted to read your post. I"m so bad. I can't believe Fred and Lupin and Tonks die. I actually loved Tonks (so far that is-I'm still rereading book 6)
I'm still sick on the deaths though glad it wasnt Harry.
I loved the epilogue which I already read- LOL
What's up with James and Serious???

Nothing really is up with James and Sirius, but when you read the books, especially book 5 and later, and you start getting into flashbacks/memories of how James and Sirius were (but mostly James) you see he really was a bully and an ass in his younger days.

Yes I see what you mean. I wish we could see more of them when they were in school. I'd like to see how Lily fell in love with James too. And how the original Order started. I dont think we see much of that.

No, we don't really see any of that. Perhaps she's saving all that information for her prequels, ala Star Wars?
