Spoil me? staff_of_truth July 16 2005, 04:02:20 UTC
Oh my. That whole Snape thing...god...didn't expect that to happen.

Sirius. Was it just me, or did that feel a little bit rushed and glossed over?

Really? How was it rushed?

And did Harry and Ginny stay together or was it just temporary?

Also, what kind of role did Luna play in the book?

Sorry for all the questions. I might not get the book for a while and I am very curious about certain events that happen in it.

Am a big spoiler freak, and will be getting the book next week, so just to clarify:

Snape is the HBP, yes?

And Ron/Hermione are together now?

Thanks for the spoilers; this is the first I've seen.

I think he AK'd Dumbledore because it was the only rational course of action left to him. He's always a man for cutting losses. He realises, when he sees Dumbledore, that Albus will probably not survive; so he does the only thing to do.

Dumbledore said "It was cruel that you and Sirius had such a short time together. A brutal ending to what should have been a long and happy relationship".

I could practially hear the Sirius/Harry slashers squee.

Can someone tell me about Draco?

Draco acts like a mean sod on the train journey, but nothing unusual. He is then given a secret mission to kill Dumbledore, on pain of his mother's death. He makes a muff of it and is found crying in a bathroom by Harry. Harry tries out a random curse and injures him. Later Draco aims his wand at Dumbledore but can't kill him.

It's a good book for Draco fans.

By "Can't kill him" I meant "can't bring himself to do it" rather than a physical inability.

Am open for chat, if anyone's interested. I've posted my reactions to the book here, although they're admittedly rambly and vaguely nonsensical and definitely despairing. Any other Snape fen want to come by and talk outselves out of the trauma? I'm going to need some help. :/

I've just finished the book and I'm in a state of shock about Snape too. I'd like to join the conversation, but you've linked to a friends-only post, I think (sorry if you think it's intruding, since you've never seen me before).

Yeah, sorry, I locked the post. I've had some people swing by who thought I'd love to hear their negative opinion of my reaction - as people do. :) I do have lots of other unlocked threads, though... or I could friend you, if you really want to see my first giant wibble. :)

Oh people, mature and understanding as always, eh? *rolls eyes*
As you wish, you don't need to friend me. I've read your other two posts on the matter and I'm delighted, I think you've expressed my thoughts and concerns better than anyone could. Isn't that great? :) I'll go take another look and see if I can contribute anything to the conversation, even if I feel everything has been said already.
