Hehe, did anyone else catch that Slughorn called Ron Rupert when he was telling Harry about how he had a house elf taste the bottles of mead for poison after Ron almost bit it from a poisoned barrel? I'm sure Rupert Grint will be quite happy to see him mentioned in some way in the book. :)

Am I the only one hoping Harry was going to save that stuff for a confrontation with Voldemort? Although, I suppose he could always get more. That's one of those advantages that I don't understand why it isn't used strategically (obviously it can't be used more often, as Slughorn explained, but it could be used by a few people at critical moments).

the hell indeed. fucking christ, i wonder if the real reason Felix Felicis isn't used more often is because of shit like this. That almost had an Imperius-like quality to it that really creeped me out (in a delicious sort of way, of course, i could get to like this bloodless, conniving Harry ^_^). I'm wondering what will happen when/if Harry reveals to Dumbledore how he used the potion to get Slughorn's memory - as in, does Dumbledore even know that Harry has a bottle of this shit?

A drunk Slughorn was marvellous - "Parry Otter, the Chosen Boy who - well - something of that sort". An the speech has gave in memory of Aragog - god, poor Ron would be horrified if he was there.
