This week's example: I don't know what a Texas sheetcake is. I also don't know how it's different from a sheetcake when I'm talking to a customer at work who wants to make a special order of salads and cake for a party. Nanaimo bars are a holiday treat in my family - Mom used to send them out, along with other goodies that don't belong to my family's geographic or ethnic heritage: baklava, turtles and rum cake. She picked the things she liked best and shipped well and then always made enough for the local family members to have some, too.

I never heard of either Texas or non-Texas sheetcakes and I was born 'n' bred in Illinois.
