Apologies for reposting from elsewhere, but I'm excited enough about this to want to put this on both my cooking blog and here.

I love my CSA. This will be my third year with them and I'll be splitting it in a different way. In the past, I've taken 1/4 of the share each week, but this year I'm going to try going with 1/2 share every-other-week. I think having more produce less often will fit better with my cooking style. I tend to cook in large quantity, but less often and portion leftovers for the freezer to be enjoyed later.

I've also really enjoyed becoming familiar with new produce, some things that I'd never even heard of before (white salad turnips that you can eat raw) and some things I'd heard of, but never tried to cook with myself (celeriac).

I think you'll really enjoy your box each week.

Do you not eat tomatoes in any format (raw, cooked)? You might consider canning them to give as gifts later in the year, or making salsas, which also make great gifts/trading items.

Can I ask how much you're paying for your share? We had a CSA in San Diego and want to join one here too, but we have no basis for comparison, since the climate and growing season are nothing like Southern California. Wondering what might be a reasonable price for us to pay here.
