Kitty Litter

I also want to plug the new kitty litter crystals out there. One of the annoying parts of having a indoors cat is the smell. These new crystals make a confined space like a bathroom not smell one bit. Before we had the usual granually kitty litter and every morning the stink was horrible, even after poo/clump removal. This is good advice. I have a couple of 12 month old felines living inside my 70 sqm unit. Their litter is in the bathroom. In the bath tub to be exact. How such cute, small creatures can emit such a stench is beyond me. I find that if the clump is removed it helps a great deal though. Until now I've been using the no frills stuff from Woolworths.

I am going to try your recommendation.

I say bah to your crystals, quite frankly - we've gone onto Purina clumping cat litter that has odour control in it. Toby and Sarah are on that too now, I believe. The crystals STINK if you don't change them VERY frequently. They seem lovely at first... anyway. Good luck.

There is a lot of dodgy clumping stuff on the market. The only one that works is Purina, I've found (comes in a cool plastic jug thing) cos it has the odour eater stuff in it. It really works a treat.

It really just depends - see how you go. Bearing in mind we were using the crystals in a two-bedroom flat and we had to walk down three flights of stairs and 200m across a carpark to get to the bin. It was a nightmare for any kind of rubbish there.

PS - I think the main thing with the Purina clumping stuff is you're actually taking all the stuff out of the litter. I know the crystals are meant to "lock in" wee odour, but it just doesn't work long-term. You have to be careful to clean EVERYTHING out when you change it over.
