The last few months have cemented it.

Papillons are like the middle ground between true toy dogs and spaniels. Most people would rather have one of the two (example by AKC ranking: chihuahuas @ 12, shih tzus @ 10, cocker spaniels @ 22, and cavaliers @ 25) rather than something in the middle ground. Papillons came in much lower. =/

Also, the breed has nearly zero media exposure.

I wasn't even aware there were rankings. ::google:: Okay. :(

They, and Australian Shepherds, are probably my favorite two... There was the most adorable little deaf Australian Shepherd in the Beginner's class at PetSmart...

Anyways, best wishes for finding a dog you can be with soon... I know Stacy and I probably weren't ready for a dog, but it's turned out very well, all things considered. It may be worth it to prepare yourself as much as possible and then just take the dive.

They're adorable! And a non-yippy toy dog is great! Although I'm pretty much committed to cats at this point.

Are they a low allergen breed? If not, it's okay, I'll just take extra drugs to come play. I can't imagine restraining myself from snuggling one of these guys.

They're a near-zero allergen breed. =)
