Oh, I think you exceeded that 1/10th. It's really unsettling to be inside of John's mind, and you certainly captured him better than the show's writer ever did.
LOLOLOL!! I LOVE that we chose each other to write for, Hazel! \o/
This was sooo cool! Love Wakefield seeking Henry out, love Henry not being afraid. And your insights into Wakefiled are brilliant, including:
They lied to him and hid his true identity from him, just like they lied to and stole from me.
We are alike, my son and I. Wronged by that woman, we'd both been thrown away
Those two show just how twisted up he is, and his percetptions of events are chilling, even more so when you read later to him really thinking he'd have been a normal dad to him.
They set me free to become what they said I was all along, and I had my revenge on them.So much in this - him being a killer all along, but keeping it under wraps, and the fact that he takes revenge for it but finds it freeing... such a great line

Miiizzzz! I'm so glad you liked it! I was CRAZY nervous about this, writing Harper's for the first time for you of all people, the queen of HI fic herself.
I know, I had a total LOL moment too when I realized we were swapping! Let's just sit here in our creepy little corner and ignore everyone else, shall we? *g*
Wakefield - yeah. I watched all his eps again and read everything I could find online about him, including looking at the screencaps of his diary pages, and then I just kinda followed him down his creepy little rabbit hole. Luce helped a lot, pointing out the inconsistencies and focusing the story. I think that grin at the end was hers too. \Luce!/ The longer I worked on this, the more I empathized with Wakefield. Sigh. First Linnet!Madison and now the man himself. What is WRONG with my brain?!? ;)
*hugs* You have absolutely NOTHING to worry about, truly. This is so great! and I will take being the Queen of HI fic as the awesome compliment as it is *puts on blood-red, sharp-edged tiara*
I love our creepy little corner, and hopefully after the rewatch others besides you, Luce (who really deserves a prize for betaing us both) and I will too. ;)
You really found your way into Wakefield's brain, and I empathize on how freaky a feeling that is. Writing Madison makes me all shivery.
*hugs back* I'm glad I did you proud. Queen of HI Fic was totally meant as a compliment. Your tiara looks fabulous, my dear!
Yes, we will recruit them to our darkness! Mwahahahahaha! *rubs hands evilly*
Yeah, between this and my Kara/Leoben fic for Spuffy, I'm pretty sure the word "creepy" has been in every single comment I've gotten this weekend. I either have to bleach out my brain, or break off a chunk and just let Wakefield and Leoben sit there stewing until I am moved to write them again.

Wakefield's head was a scary place to be. My other fic involved Leoben. I think I need to scrub my brain now...
