I'm so thrilled this fic has come back to life; I sat up in bed this morning drinking coffee and reading through the whole thing from the beginning. I'm not normally a horror fan but this is fantastically atmospheric - the sense of menace hanging over them is keeping me on the edge of my seat. And of course, I love your Rufus. To me, all his actions and reactions are well-judged, believable, and convincingly portrayed, but it was his first reaction to zombie-Reno, a few chapters back, that really got me where it hurts

First off - thank you for the very comprehensive review :D. I daresay I lingered over this like I would over a piece of good fanfic (if not more!)
I wouldn't say that this is true blue horror since the objective is not really to scare the living daylights out of the audience, so I'm glad it works for you. I'm very glad you like the interpretation of Rufus in this one - he's not as slick as the AC version, but one of the themes I'm working on in this piece is his transition from in-game to AC.
