Mmmmm, did mean to do fashion post first but I ended up digging around to find a favourite poem of mine - or rather, the title - and ended up finding so much more, like e-books containing tons of poetry from Shelley, Blake, Wordsworth et al. Read some Shelley and was completely compelled by so much of it, even though I'd read a little Shelley ( Read more... )

poetry, way too much spare time

Go for Blake next. I still have nightmares about Wordsworth and Coleridge ('The Old Cumberland Begger' - UGH!). Blake is fabulous though (and a local to me as well, not that this means anything).

I do already like a little of Blake's poetry but I feel I need to read Wordsworth just to get a better sense of him.

I always preferred Keats to Shelley myself (having studied them for my Eng. Lit. A-level). I do like that one, though.

As for who next, go for Blake! Never could get along with Wordsworth, whereas Blake was clearly a genius (a bit mad, but a genius).

Amongst those I've gotten feedback on this from, Blake does appear to be the clear favourite. :)
