Well, I'm not against Vicki being a blonde, per se. (I really must dig out my Blonde Liberation Front Supporter icon again one of these days just for fun.) But it does seem a little odd after Alexandra Moltke and Joanna Going to suddenly switch directions and make Vicki a blonde.
On the other hand, I expect that what the WB wants is "Angel Meets The OC" so maybe I'm not surprised after all.
Also? Is it just me or is Joe Haskell a little too, well, smarmy-looking?
No Maggie or Sam Evans, not to mention Sheriff Patterson, or Professor Woodard. I wonder who they'll cast as Julia or Sarah? And wondering what the heck they're going to do with the new cast--I'm betting this Alexis Greer chick is probably going to be the new hedge witch in place of Maggie Evans. And the maid will certainly be more of a romantic interest for someone now that she's the same generation as the rest of the cast.
Second, it was the cheese factor (and an awful lot of time travel) that made the first DS so watchable, so if they try to do it entirely straight and entirely modern era... well, see point 1.
Oh, I loved the 1991 revival. It was my first exposure to Dark Shadows, actually. But I'll wait and see what happens with the new series.
The one that we just know made the slash fen sigh at the possibilities of a myserious and past relationship with Angel. Even though with two such broody boys who knows what kind of silly past they had.
Barnabas is waaaay too young; I hope they introduce Julia Hoffman in due course, as she was always my favorite; and menikoff and I were just lamenting that we won't get fabulous false eyelashes of the 18th century, or Victorian Blue Eyeliner. *pout*
Yes, but it won't look inappropriately costumed for at least another two decades. Oh well.
You're right. But we can make fun of them for something else instead, can't we?
Someday we'll look back on it and it will be waaaay too 2004.
I vidded the 1991 Dark Shadows and while it doesn't look excessively dated (yet), gotta say the Barnabas-with-snarling-fangs moments are pretty damn silly looking. Too bad I had to keep them in to make it clear that This Is A Vampire. *g*

*snorfle* And isn't that a shame? ;) But I'm betting we get time travel, at least.
