I actually had that very same feeling. What was the purpose of breaking them up exactly? Other than to make all of us who never realised we shipped them kind of sad?

I don't know! They meaned up Miss Piggy hardcore and turned her into almost a sociopath, and now they're sort of chilling that out a bit. And they're drawing parallels between Denise and Miss Piggy. And. Just. I like Denise! But I was hardcore childhood shipping Kermit/Miss Piggy before I even knew what shipping was. I've watched every episode of The Muppets and I'm still not sure what the point of the breakup was.

(I do kind of like Fozzie's girlfriend, though. Even though I hate her show and duo - Garfunkel and Oates - for that stupid Pregnant Women Are Smug song. Just fuck you. That was not my experience of pregnancy, nor was it the experience of any woman I have ever talked to who has been pregnant. Do or don't get pregnant, whatever you want, but don't bag on women who do because they don't behave the way you want them to. But I like the two women on the show individually as actors. If that makes sense.)
