School really takes time away from original fic and fandom.

I miss having hobbies. Even when I took a night off last night (due to tiredness and burnout), I still didn't get to start watching my shows, because they would take too much attention and make me want to stop cold on doing schoolwork

Yeah, I wish all female characters got lots of fics written about them. Especially with your BSG example. Oh, that reminds me, did you ever find any good fics about Pepper keeping stable Extremis powers? (I was going to comment on that entry too but I forgot.)

...I don't know where my head is at but I'm pretty sure I just figured out what "reversed the polarity" is supposed to mean. Or does everyone already know that? lol (I'm currently ripping and watching Star Trek DS9)

Fandom barometers! I was trying to think of a good term--and that's a good one. I have different ones depending on what kind of fandom we're talking about, too. :-)

I'm glad you're going to watch it while at the same time suddenly terrified that all the things I didn't mind (there's some dubious consent issues, and I've had people ping the one dude as a Gay Stereotype, and there must be others?) will annoy you or make you dislike it. (prozacpark and meganbmoore were asking me what all of the problems/bad things were at Wiscon, and I kept going "I DON'T KNOW" and I think that's because if there are issues, I just ignore them because I'm loving the rest of it)

idk. All I know is that I was more excited for Orphan Black than Doctor Who while it was airing. Which is disturbing for someone who loooooves DW like I do.

I saw this summed up on Tumblr as "Oh, look. Straight people are concern trolling about Felix." Dunno how accurate the summation is, but it amuses me.

And since I know plenty of real-life people who behave exactly like him, and he's a markedly more quality human being than most of them... well.

This exactly. None of the queers I know have a problem with Fee--it's all straight people.

That is actually good to know? Like, I've been gleeful over the fact that Felix is just gay, with no bells and whistles or apologies, or some sort of mitigating "well, he's just not riiight" kind of undertone to it.
