My non tv watching weekend.

Aug 29, 2011 09:03

I don't remember what I did Friday, but I remember that I forgot to watch Haven and have to catch it tonight. Which is fine, then I'll watch Warehouse 13 and Eureka tomorrow, when there's nothing I watch on.

Last week's Warehouse 13, though. It was a Myka ep! Oh, Myka, I adore you. I'll even forgive how ( spoilers )

That's because Amy Pond is amazing. I love her SO MUCH!

I have mixed feelings about the actual story execution of the latest ep, but continue to be carried on a wave of squeee by Amy and Rory and River. And the Doctor too, though primarily in his interactions with any/all of the above.

Something about this particular cast configuration really crystallizes the truth that the Doctor is, if not nothing, decidedly less without his companions. Eleven often seems more defined by his relationships with them than the reverse.

I agree, but I also think it's this in combination with seeing how ungrounded that Ten got without companions in The Waters of Mars.

Ooh, very good point! The Season of Specials feels so long ago now, but that's definitely relevant. Certainly it was a wake-up call of sorts, even if he hasn't figured out what to do about it. Aside from, y'know, traveling with an entourage.

It's probably not a coincidence that Five is "my Doctor," and I heart the Adric-Nyssa-Tegan Team TARDIS even though the writers didn't know what to do with all of them a good chunk of the time.

Hai! Yay for catching up on some TV, if not all. :)

I LOLed so much during latest ep of Rizzoli and Isles. I love the show to pieces but they probably used every existing stereotype about "witches".

Oh Glee starts this week? If that's so, then I'm a bad fan, because I had no idea. I mostly watch for music and general crackyness, and I love the cast. Hopefully we'll hear Santana sing more often this season.

We already talked about Dr Who, and I only have more confusion in my head regarding the plotline than I had when we talked. This show is constantly frakking with my brain!

Well, the problem with Doctor Who this series and the last is that you really have to follow the time travel bits very closely, and keeping them all straight in your head is really hard to do, you know?

I agree! And it's not easy for me - I watched Back to the Future lots of times and I fail to keep that story straight in my head, lol. But it's been fun so far :D

YES on all the thundercats stuff. How are you feeling about Tygra? I'm wishy-washy since they've done a lot to him and it makes for conflict but....I dunno. I'm already eyerolly at Lion-o. Must I be eye-rolly at Tygra too? (also omg I shipped Tygra and Cheetara hardcore when I was a wee little Lanna)

Oh geez, I caught that rizzoli and Isles and there was MUCH eyerolling. Maybe in LA the TV writers aren't exposed to the granola wiccans or something. Hmm...nah. They're just being lazy. goth!wiccans are easier to drop into a scene with ready-made assumptions by the majority of the audience and sets up the church (and because they're lazy, it's some form of christian church) and all it's representatives as adversaries. Lazy :P

I'm okay with Tygra? I just wish they'd give him more depth other than "brother's rival," you know?
