News anchors slay me, or Why the news leads to fanfiction

I'm zoning out, just starting to sink my teeth into thehighwaywoman's stickied story list and wondering at how the day is nearly gone already, when my brain suddenly cues in to the news anchor saying "a chupacabra caught on tape." Which of course immediately snags my attention.

And I'm immediately disappointed. Of course. It looks like a dog.But hey, the Dean
