How is it up there? I’ve only been on a Battlestar once before--when I was at U.Picon, I fulfilled my history general ed requirement with a course on the Cylon War, and the professor got us a tour. But it was one of the smaller ones....the Echo, if I’m remembering correctly. I thought it was really interesting to see how it functions like a small city. Do you like the people you share a room with?

Nice try, Civvie. Echo is a Gunstar, which is much smaller. I’ve never actually been on a Gunstar--they don’t have decks long enough to launch and receive Vipers. But they can launch Raptors, and a pilot I know served on Echo’s sister, Narcissus, a few rotations ago. From what I heard, imagine what you saw times about a hundred, and that’s what it’s like on Athena.
Oh, you know. Most of the people I share a rack with are idiots, frakkers, or both. But none of them can hold a triad face worth a damn, so I haven’t had to buy my own smokes since I got here.
Don’t get a lot of mail up here, so feel free to write whenever. But don’t let it eat into practice time--heard Virgon handed you guys your asses last week.

Everyone’s a critic! Yes, we lost to Virgon, but they’re clearly headed to the Worlds Series this year while we’re in a bit of recovery season. Besides, I’m proud of the way we played--I let the team down a little on defense, I’ll be the first to admit, but our offense was at the top of their game. Barolay hit her career best for passing yards, and Crip-Key had an impressive sixteen point attempts.
If you’re going to be following the C-Bucs now, then you’ve got to commit to congratulating when we win, too. We’re playing the Bulls in two weeks. I’ll look for the letter.
