Title: I Don't See Why He Moves Me
Chapter: 10/?
Rating: M
Pairing: Gabe Saporta/William Beckett, Alex Gaskarth/Jack Barakat, Ryan Ross/Brendon Urie, Alex Suarez/Nate Novarro Cassadee Pope/Hayley Williams
Summary: William Beckett is a shy, quiet, reserved, academically perfect student. Gabe Saporta is a screw off Senior who is one performing arts credit away from not graduating. When Gabe is faced with the decision to repeat his senior year or participate in the school play, he opts for the play, not intending to snag a lead role in the production of Jesus Christ, Superstar. What surprises him even more than his role as Judas in the musical is William Beckett, who holds the role of Jesus. At first, Gabe is dumbfounded by the transformation William undergoes when he is onstage, turning from a shy, quiet loner to a tall, thin powerhouse. As the play continues, Gabe begins to wonder how William can be so loud, so vibrant on stage, when the second he slips out of his role and back into his own skin, the boy can barely speak above a whisper.
Disclaimer: FICTIONAL! Oh, and the title is from Jesus Christ, Superstar.

“Phase two!” Brendon hopped up to Ryan during lunch, “We’re a part of phase two!”

“We are?” Ryan frowned, raising his eyebrows.

“Yes!” Brendon nodded, “We’re supposed to show them what we’re made of! I’m supposed to play all of Alex’s notes an octave too high just to annoy him, and you…” He smirked as he looked at Ryan. “You’re supposed to confuse Jack.”

“Oh, that’s hard.” Ryan said sarcastically, “How am I supposed to confuse him?”

“You’re supposed to tell him that you need him to finish the cross tonight so that you know what tint of makeup to go with William during the crucifixion scene.”

“That’s so bullshit.” Ryan rolled his eyes, “That has nothing to do with the makeup.”

“I know that and you know that, but Barakat doesn’t.” Brendon clapped his hands with glee. “Come on, I know that you’re not as into this as I am, but can’t you just do this for me?” Brendon pouted, the top hat falling askew on top of his head as he did so. “Please, please, please?”

“God, not the pout.” Ryan closed his eyes, trying to ignore Brendon, “Is it gone yet?”

“Yep.” Brendon nodded, though he was still pouting full throttle. Ryan opened one eye hesitantly, shutting it instantly as he realized that his boyfriend was still making the puppy eyes.

“You liar!” Ryan sighed, “You said it was over.”

“Yeah, well I really, really, really need you, come on! Please?” Brendon begged, his voice dripping with hope.

“Ugh, fine.” Ryan let out a deep sigh as he opened his eyes. Brendon’s pout gave way to an ecstatic grin and he grabbed Ryan’s hands.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you! I mean it’s not like it’s going to hurt anyone, it’s just a bit of harmless fun.”

“I suppose that’s true.” Ryan nodded, squeezing Brendon’s hand. “Now, I think if we’re careful,” he whispered, “we can sneak off to the supply closet and have a little one on one time before the bell rings.”

“Okay!” Brendon nodded, allowing himself to be lead down the hallway by his boyfriend.

“Play lower!” Alex whined as he stopped rehearsal for a third time.

“I’m so sorry,” Brendon feigned genuine apologies; “I don’t know what’s wrong with me today.”

“You’ve never done this before,” Alex hissed, “I know you’re just fucking with me!”

“Alex.” Mr. Thompson sighed, “He’s doing his best, alright?”

“Fine.” Alex turned back to his position as Brendon began to play again. He was doing well, playing perfectly until about halfway through the song where, smirking to himself, he moved an octave higher, causing Alex’s voice to crack as he tried to hit it.

“Crap.” Brendon stopped playing again, “I’m sorry, I just…I’m sorry.”

“You’re doing this on purpose you little shit!” Alex moved towards Brendon, walking towards him threateningly.

“Hey, no.” Ryan leapt up from where he sat in the chairs and moved between Alex and Brendon, “You leave my boyfriend alone or I’ll fuck with yours.” Ryan snapped.

“Bitch.” Alex groaned, turning away.

“Alright, okay, everyone seems to be a little…out of sorts today.” Mrs. Lane got to her feet, “Let’s just call it good for rehearsal and get some sleep. We’ll all do better tomorrow, won’t we, Brendon?”

“Yes ma’am.” Brendon nodded, standing up and grabbing Ryan’s hand, “Thanks, babe.” he whispered, kissing Ryan’s cheek.

“Anytime.” Ryan shrugged, “Come on, let’s go - Jack’s hard at work on the cross, I think we have time to get out of here before Alex gets pissed about that as well.”

“Sweet.” Brendon grabbed his backpack, following Ryan out as rehearsal began to disperse.

“Hey! William!” Gabe jumped off of the stage, following William as the boy headed for the door, “Look, I just…talk to me, please?” He bit his lip.

“No.” William folded his arms across his chest, “We’re in a play together, Gabe, we’re not friends.”

“Maybe not,” Gabe whispered, “but I’d like to be.”

“No, you wouldn’t.” William shook his head, “Look, I know all about you, Gabriel Saporta, the way you use boys. I know that you’re only interested in me because I’m your type, or whatever, and I’m not okay with that - don’t act like you want to be my friend, you don’t know me at all.” William turned, heading for the door.

“I don’t know you because you won’t let me get to know you!” Gabe hurried after William, grabbing the boy’s arm once they were in the main hallway, “Yes, what you’ve heard about me, most of it’s true - aside from the Bobby Chandler thing, I didn’t hook up with him. Ever. But my point is, William, I want to get to know you, not get into your pants.”

“Bullshit.” William shook his head.

“It’s not bullshit.” Gabe sighed, “You’re not like those other boys, William. You’re not thick enough to let me in just long enough to fuck you and get out, you’re smart.”

“Leave me alone.” William started to walk away again, but again, Gabe followed him.

“One chance,” Gabe stated, “Give me one chance. Let me buy you dinner tonight, we can talk, and if you still hate me after that, I’ll leave you alone for the rest of your life.”

“And if I don’t?” William asked, raising an eyebrow as he looked at Gabe.

“I’ll keep bothering you.” Gabe shrugged, answering as though it were the most obvious answer around.

“Okay, fine.” William rolled his eyes, “Meet me at the Pita Pit at 8.” With that, he turned, walking away for a final time, and this time, Gabe allowed him to, heading for his own locker in the opposite direction.

“Oh, owned!” Travis Clark slapped Travis McCoy upside the head, “You owe me twenty, Gabe got the date.”

“That’s not a date.” Travis McCoy shook his head, “That’s dinner. If he gets William to go out with him again, that’s a date.”

“Bullshit!” Travis Clark frowned, “You stupid motherfucker, that right there was a date!”

“No,” Travis McCoy shook his head, “It’s not.”

“Yes, it is!”

“No, it’s not!”

“Yes, it is!”

“No, it’s-”

“Hey!” Jeffree shouted, interrupting the screaming Travis’, “Hayley and Cass are making out in the costume room.”

“Oh…” Travis Clark’s eyes widened. “Girl make-out.”

“Let’s party.” Travis McCoy grinned, forgetting the argument and hurrying with Travis Clark towards the costume room.

“Wait…” Nate frowned as he looked up at Alex, “I thought they were gay.”

“Bi, young padawan.” Alex ruffled Nate’s hair, “You still have much to learn.” He slung his arm around Nate, walking towards the door.
