I love that you got so excited about Jack/Zack too! And I love the breathless tone. This feels like a gorgeous little slice of a much larger epic romance, with star-crossed lovers 42nd century style. And that layer of nostalgia underneath where there's a twinge but it's not painful.

Even if there were other Jack/Zack stories this would still be the best!

Oh, premise of win, and you ran with it wonderfully!

I like best, I think, that Jack finds the story comforting rather than otherwise, and that he shares Zack's shippiness over the Doctor and Rose without too much pain. Just that note of humoring Zack's enthusiasm while keeping his private nostalgia to himself - that's very Jack.

azn_jack_fiend is a mad genius, I'm pretty sure. But once you think about Zachary's character IT MAKES PERFECT BRILLIANT SENSE.

I'd like to think after 2000 years Jack is getting better adjusted to everything his life's dealt him.
