I was going to say, "I don't post much anymore," but I've never posted much.

I've been going rowing instead of sailing lately, which is different, and is more exercise than sailing. A pretty strong squall came up as I was rowing today, which was mildly exciting. The skiff I was in handled the waves fine, but it really really wanted ( Read more... )

If your boat has to take a wind set, into is much better than side-to, I suppose, but that's still exciting. I've always wanted to try that -- but since I'm a little tense about water, it's probably not on the list of likely stuff.

True true. And maybe I could have adjusted it- it had a centerboard I could move around some, which I assume would have shifted the center of drag around. But I didn't want to take my hands off the oars long enough to figure it out.

Usually your lj username makes me think of *you*, but when you talk about being in a boat in convective weather, it makes me think of masses of your kind all stretching your white bodies and stubby tendril arms up to the thunderclouds, excitedly glowing.
