(This message brought to you by the Department of My Head Hurts And Therefore Everything Sucks.)I haven't really enjoyed my job much lately. On the other hand, I don't want to take a vacation or quit, because then I'd be stuck at home, which is if anything worse. At least at work I can usually lose myself in the task at hand. My usual free-time ( Read more... )

I did eventually think of aspirin (it always takes me a long time to think of taking a painkiller) but it didn't help much. It doesn't seem like an aspirin-y kind of headache. OTOH, my occasional mini-pseudo-migraines don't seem like they'd respond to aspirin, but it works wonderfully for those.

Hm, that's a tough one. I usually go somewhere scenic (Golden Gardens, Alki, Magnolia) to walk and ponder for a while, or indulge in a bit of brain damage and dancing at a nightclub. It's also worth making sure the headache isn't simply dehydration…

Yeah. A club would be the ideal solution if I didn't think loud noise would make me curl up and whimper.

I eventually settled for doing the lame crossword in the North Seattle Herald-Outlook and watching the roomba bump into things.

This probably won't make the head feel better, but I am done watching all of Firefly, and you are first on the list for the borrowing. It makes a nice distraction.

Also, you forgot the whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine form of whine.

Fluffy romance novels in spaaaaaace!

Well, the later ones, at least. The earlier ones seem like they're adventure novels with the usual dollop of adventurous romance.

(Except for Shards of Honor which is more romancelike again. Hmmmm. Doubtless there are 500 posts on the topic on rasfw which I could read if I wanted to.)

I am instead reading Metropolitan, which like Bujold has the advantage that I've already read it, so fi my brain conks out for a bit I won't get too lost.

Head still broken today. I've decided it's like a cross between having the flu and being drunk. :-P
