No self control

OK I promised myself I'd spend less time on LJ because I'm lagging behind in a few things I need to be doing - but it's not really working anyway and now I have to have an LJ binge to catch up because it's killing me not knowing what's going on ...

While I'm here Catalyst  looked at caffeine last night and proved that it's good for me! Plus the ( Read more... )

You're LJ breaks are about as good as mine. ;-)

I am back on the caffeine now I am ensconced in office life again, but sadly mine is the more harmful cola variety, and I hate myself for being so bloody weak in the face of a big red vending machine. Argh!

Sadly, yes ;)

Cola is evil! My caffeine intake is strictly through goodcoffee ('cause the 'good' makes it all ok!), the occasional chocolate and very weak tea, which hardly counts in my book. I was talking to someone about the program and its findings today and she suggested you could argue that anything which makes you feel good can make you think quicker or work better. Her example was sex. I'm not arguing.

I am really on the wagon at the moment with the baby infestation and all but can't wait to get back to a more abundant caffeine supply... buoyed as I am by the fact that they used a sleep deprived new father for their experiments! Then I need not appear so scatter brained! Who ever knew just how truly indespensible caffeine is. And don't knock the chocolate!

Poor you. I don't think I can have children if it involves caffeine deprivation ;)

And you won't see any knocking of chocolate here. I'm right behind chocolate, all the way!

Good coffee (not instant) is definitely my drug of choice. Since I don't measure out my coffee, neither in grams nor ounces, I didn't know whether to answer that I drank 2 cups of coffee or 4... since I drink two mugs each morning.

I'd have to disagree about sex making you work better and think quicker. Ya cavort through hours you might be sleeping, then you're groggy the next day. Happily so, but groggy nevertheless. And I dunno about you, but I've been known to get, um, preoccupied in the thinking department. At times. But maybe that's just me. ;)

There is that, but I suspect most of the 'negative' effects are not actually the result of the sex itself but all the stuff that comes with it. At least early on in things I find that the high that comes with all that extra activity tends to negate some of the grogginess :)
