History does not repeat itself except in the minds of those who do not know history. (Kahlil Gibran)

I think I have been fighting off some horrible disease. Feeling brighter today. Of course that could have something to do with the fact that it's 11am and I am still in my dressing gown.

Also contributing to my good mood - I took a Canadian visitor to the Haighs chocolate factory yesterday (yum!) and Tasting Australia has hit Adelaide. Who needs ( Read more... )

George Santayana:

Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

Doesn't chocolate have all sorts of anti-oxidants and Phenylethylamine (related to amphetamines and also the endorphine that creates the rush of being in love) to make you feel better? Perhaps the chocolate helped stave off the disease attack, so all that's left is the tiredness? I have to have a "sleeping day" once every 3 or 4 weeks, a day of napping and doing very little in between naps. I think I had one last Wednesday or so. They're very theraputic, sleeping days.

I knew chocolate was good. I shall eat more of it, just in case ;)

I ended up just buying some macaroons in the end because our local store charges a little much for the Whittaker's blocks that I usually prefer.

Hmmm, macaroons are a poor substitute for chocolate, but I guess needs must :)

Dark chocolate is the best because you get the rush with less sugar so you needn't feel as guilty.

Mmmm, I'm only just getting into dark chocolate, I never used to like it, but I think you're right. (plus I can't eat as much of it at once, which is possibly a good thing)

PS have you got my letter yet?

Dark chocolate is the goddess's/god's gift to the world. ;) I also didn't like it when I was younger, but learned the error of my ways in time! So look what you have to look forward to...
