You'd get better data by asking people to prove familiarity by putting the company into the business sector--at least, that was my criterion for "am familiar with" as against "think I have seen the name in the Economist once". I do terribly with engineering firms. Admittedly all those fly-by-night miners have fairly obvious names.

It depends on what sort of data I want! As it happens, categorising in this case would be counterproductive. All will be revealed soon...
