Aw, I love French bulldogs. I've seen a few of them in Madison Square Park (it has a doggie playground, so I get to see all kinds of mutts and purebreds). I remember a tortoiseshell color, which to me seemed very odd on a dog.
I love any kind of bulldog, really. English, French, Renaissance, American. There's even a breed called Olde Boston, which I think the Boston Terrier (I'm pretty that blissful flying dog earlier this week on Cute Overload was a Boston Terrier) comes from.
Yeah, bulldog breeds are great. Once I was standing in line for burgers behind this girl who was no bigger than me, who was trying to hold onto a young and energetic bulldog (I believe it was Olde English, all white with a brown spot on his face) on a leash. He kept dragging her off-balance. A funny, playful boy! You just wanted to tackle him and roll around on the ground.
I used to have a pencil sketch of an English bulldog in a leather bomber jacket. I got it at an air show. I think it had signatures from officers in the RAF on it? I dun remember, but I loved it, I thought it was so cool and cute at the same time.
