Bashing the Sakura-Bashers

Aug 09, 2009 21:56

I know this character has probably been done to death, but I simply cannot let it rest. I must fight for Haruno Sakura! She doesn't deserve all the crap people put her though. So without further ado, here is my rant to end all rants ( Read more... )

annoying, bashing, blaaaargh, sakura

I do too! Plus, I just hate character bashing. It's all a bunch of obsessive, useless fangirl retardation! Team 7 ftw!

I can't think of a reason to hate her after part one that wasn't something more related to how Kishi was writing the story. Really, I think everyone's mad at Kishi for not letting his girls do anything except get rescued by the men and sent back to the kitchen medic tents.

I hate that all the girls are so under appreciated in this series. :(

I do too. I wish Kishi would get the ladies to do something badass for once. Tenten for instance... she has absolutely -no- backstory... not even a last name, for God's sake! They've all proven themselves to be capable kunoichi - so why can't Kishi let them be an active part of the storyline rather than the ones who sit in the background and cry all the time.

I totally agree. Sakura is one of my favorite Naruto characters. She kicks ass. :)

She does! She whooped Sasori and has the power to demolish boulders into dust with one punch! Not to mention she is the best medic... second only to Tsunade herself. It's nice to find people who appreciate Sakura - I'm so very sick of seeing her bashed. D:

I LOVE YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS.

And it seems that Types 1 and 3 overlap somewhat. I know of girls who think that their pet yaoi guys will only go straight for THEIR magical vagoo.

And since NaruSasu is a huuuuge ship...yeah.

I LOVE YOU TOO BB.

I've noticed this as well. Crap, if they're as gay as they make them out to be... why in the world would they want a sad little fangirl? I'll be honest... the NaruSasu ship annoys the hell out of me. Have they ever showed any signs of being gay? It's so illogical that it makes my brain hurt. The one time the boys accidentally kissed they were utterly disgusted. This should be a red flag to the fact that they aren't gay - but no... the fangirls will always find a way in their world of rainbows and Elton John and gay frolicking bishies.

No offense if you're a yaoi fan. I like yaoi as much as anyone else... but only when it's logical.

AMEN. That's why the only yaoi pairing I actively ship anymore is canon. (Passively, I'll write/draw anything for anyone, I don't care.)

And I'm gay myself, and it frustrates me a LOT when fangirls have to find two guys who they both think are hot in order to write gay pr0nz about them. Umm, there are a lot of m/m pairings that get ignored because one or both of the guys involved aren't "bishie" enough for fangirls*. Plus, as you said, if the characters were to suddenly appear from out of the TV, they probably wouldn't go for the fangirl. I mean (in Naruto) what fangirl has anything on a KUNOICHI, for crying out loud?

*This, sadly, has happened to me IRL at anime cons (among other places). I'm not very bishie or femme or stereotypically gay, and that, coupled with my penchant for any sort of dirty joke imaginable/discussing het and yuri (as well as yaoi)/not squeeing loudly at any two guys holding hands or kissing, has fangirls backing away from me thinking that I ( ... )

Oh Jesus. That kind irritates me to no end, some of the absolute best pairings are the ones *without* the bishieness. They think if one of the characters paired isn't whiny or stereotypical, then they absolutely cannot be gay - and even worse, they morph one of the more manly characters into a whiny ball of pent up emotional distress to fit their image of how a gay boy should be. Someone seriously needs to clarify this for these sad, delusional fangirls: not all gay boys are sniveling ukes ( ... )

When I first saw Sakura in the anime, I found it sad how she was portrayed/written. I literally cheered when she became Tsunade's apprentice and started to make a life for herself. When Shippuuden started and we could see that she had grown up a lot, especially strength wise, I had hoped to see more of that and then came the arc with Sasori... wow, I still re-watch her fight. Still not tired of it. It was smart, it was well plotted and it was fast paced. (not to mention the music underlying it all was perfect and made that fight one of the most memorable in Naruto for me ( ... )
