Okay, so this is something that's been stewing within me for a very long time, but I was never really sure I was going to be able to word it articulately enough. I didn't just want to come in here and start spewing words out, I wanted to actually make some sort of valid argument for why I don't agree with the bashing of Yuna, from FFX.

Oh, thank you! I'm glad it all made sense. I was so afraid it was just going to be a jumble of words. LOL When I start defending Yuna, I get pretty fierce. I LOVE HER and I don't really understand why she is hated as much as she is.

And your icon is beautiful!

This is TRUFAX. Yuna may not be my favorite FFX character, but that's due to the stiffness of the competition, not because she isn't a wonderful and tragic and incredibly strong and heroic character.

I'll never understand the Yuna bashing. Never. Especially since they seem to be bashing her for flaws (like being "wishy-washy") of which she epitomizes the opposite. Is there another version of the game I didn't notice?

Oh, I hear you. Rikku, ftw. Seriously, love Rikku. :D But she doesn't seem to get hated on as much as Yuna. Or I'm just missing it. Which is probably a good thing, 'cuz I'd rip someone a new one if they started bashing Rikku. ;)

I don't get Yuna bashing either. I really do not even pretend to understand it. They want to call her weak and all this and I'm just like "WHAT. No. Play the game again. Watch Yuna. NOT WEAK. NOT WISHY-WASHY. Look that phrase up. I do not think it means what you think it means." And god forbid the girl be shy! I hate that that is something she gets bashed for! Oh noes! She's timid! Wah! Some girls just can't win, I guess.

Is there another version of the game I didn't notice?

I get the same feeling all the time in my fandom (the "Tales of" series, fyi)
It's a weird feeling, isn't it?

I think you're 100% right. Yuna is not weak, but she is human and that's part of what I love about her.

Heck, the Ronso thought Yuna was strong, isn't that good enough?

Very true. What was it the Ronso said? That she was a strong as Mt. Gagazet or something? Either way, this is a group that puts a lot of stock in being strong, and they thought Yuna was, so there you go! ;)

I don't know Yuna that much (just got some pics on my comp because she's pretty, and watched a friend play a few times), but I liked reading your defence. She sounds like an awesome heroine!

She's very awesome! And FFX is a super game, I'd totally encourage you to play it!
