So I post on this Final Fantasy message board, and there is a member that is being a bit of a pain in the ass. Almost all of her posts have a sentence bashing Aerith, regardless if it's on topic or not. Seriously, it could be a thread about Zidane and Dagger, and she'll be like "ZOMG I love Zidane and Dagger! I hear ya. For god's sake, the subtle stuff with Cloud and Aerith in Disc 1 made it extremely magical for me. I really, REALLY hate most of the fandom though. Aerith and/or Tifa hate is useless anyway, because THEY don't hate each other. Just watch the "You were always with us." part in Advent Children for reference.

Funny, she appears to be talking about a different Aeris than the one I've been using. MY Aeris I use practically everywhere seeing as when I first started out her 'sucky' abilities saved me from dying and a certain limit break called SEAL EVIL made that nasty boss I had to fight to get Vincent in Shinra manor stop dead. I'm gonna miss her.

How long has it been since FF7 was relased?! People are still not over their moronic, over-enthusiastic love/hate.

The Tifa-loving Aerith-bashers have to realize that their so-called "competition" is dead. But she died a noble death and had it not been for her, then the heroes wouldn't have found the way to defeat Sephiroth.

Aerith-loving Tifa-bashers are no angels either. Tifa is not a bitch or a slut, nor was she only there for fanservice. She was Cloud's best friend and a loving person.

In fact, Aerith and Tifa never even had a rivalry; they were actually friends and Tifa genuinely mourned for Aerith. Did these people even play the game? That's what I'd like to know.

Yes it was very obvious in the game that they were friends. They didn't exactly hang out together when the party split up because they hated each other ( ... )

Very interesting! I don't recall ever seeing their personalities switched up, or ever imagining one with the personality of the opposite. I would very much like to see your essay. ^^

And agreed about single Cloud. Aerith is for Zack, especially now that they're both dead, and Tifa I have such a hard time seeing Cloud get romantic with. XD; I think I'd rather just see them stay friends without bringing romance into it.
