Hear hear on all your points! Yes, Erik is super possessive. But gosh dangit, he has his morals, just like you said when he released Christine--he realized he was wrong and tried to atone for his mistakes at the cost of his own happiness.

Yes, it is a major plot point, but there are other characters and other plot points like the Persian being incomprehensibly bad ass or that Meg Giry and Madame Giry actually exist.

FUCK YES. And damn, the Persian completely owns my world too. :333 ♥
