Ah, 003. She's made of AWESOME. She's not a pushover (she did stand up for Helene when 004 accused her unjustly of being a spy), she's very sesitive and selfless despite her own inner demons (who can take care of 001 like she does?). Also, 003 DID have a whole episode in the 2001 series dedicated to how much ass she can kick. If not for her using her brains to discover the antidote and her brwans to dismantle the biological bomb, the world would've succumbed to the Pharaoh Virus.

Francoise is one of the best girls in oldschool anime. I hope my two defenses of her made justice to her greatness. XD

Shinji is sort of my "pet cause" when it comes to hated characters. I created and run the 3rd_child_fans community, if that tells you anything. :3

I used to know a girl who DETESTED 003. She was an arse in all areas of life, though.

I love you for defending Shinji. He's easily my favorite Evangelion character. :D

Huh. The yearly Shinji isn't that bad post came around late.

Frankly, one of the neat things about Evangelion is the completely extreme reactions to the main trio. You don't get desginated heroes or cool people (except for Kaji and, arguably, Misato, you don't get any "cool" people in the series) - they're all fucked up in their own way, take it or leave it.
