Sometimes I wonder who from FF8 ISN'T hated. Sure, the characters have a bunch of supporters, but of a bunch of anti-fans too. As someone said once, sometimes they bash all the characters ( Read more... )

I loved FFVIII. Not as much as FFVII--but I still loved it, especially the Laguna/Raine/Ellone/Squall subplot. :D

I loved FFVIII. And yeah, you're right--everyone gets bashed. D: Rinoa and Selphie probably get it the worst, though...

Stupid basherfaces. D: I mean,if it was pairing bashing, I could deal with that. *weirdo* But the whole character bashing thing really gets under my skin.

Do it! I love the whole cast of FFVIII, more than I do the cast of any other single FF, and all the bashing (not to mention trying to deny the canon pairings. It seems that every time someone tries to point out that yes, Squall and Rinoa are obviously in love by the end of the game, they get flamed for daring to force their "opinion" on other fans) makes me sad.

Disliking the game itself I can somewhat understand...but the characters?! They're the core strongpoint to FF8. I thought all of their personalities were well-developed (well, Seifer might be an exception...)

But I love Squall, Rinoa, Zell, Selphie, Quistis, and Irvine due to their different personalities and how well they interact with each other. I love Fuujin and Raijin due to their loyalty to Seifer, who unfortuently doesn't return the feeling while under Ultimecia's control. And of course, I love Laguna (how can you NOT?)
