I have to say I've never liked
The Top Ten Anime Babes website. Mostly for their insistence that "anti-babe" Belldandy is a whiny crybaby who never does anything (which I don't think is true). Their characterization of Yui and Miaka is also outright bizarre. Plus, some of their rants have an outright anti-feminist and anti-lesbian vibe. (I

And I'm damn sick of these rabid feminists being all "She doesn't kick ass, she chooses to be a wife and mother?! SHE'S SETTING THE WOMEN'S MOVEMENT BACK! WAAAH OPRESSION ETC!".

Women can be strong in different ways. They don't all have to "kick ass" or whatever.
I also don't quite understand why they think "runner-up" Faye Valentine has a "trampy" attitude. Trampy outfit, I guess, trampy attitude... when? But I'm very defensive of Faye in this regard.
I mean, I know the site's just being silly, but their opinions don't make much sense to me. (But I love Yui and Miaka too...)

You know, I'll admit to finding Mai hot, but the main reason I like her is because of her upbeat personality.
That, and her interactions with Andy are hillarious.

I think that's the most important part of this, really. That's what bothers me about so many of these types of things. Sure, kickass, sexy, driven women are cool, but ... that's not ALL I want to see. That's a great quote. I just want them to be CHARACTERS.

I know what you mean. I like strong women, but I HATE the whole "if she wears a dress/likes being domestic/doesn't fight, she's a prissy little sugary housewife/damsel in distress/worthless little retard; girls who aren't Amazons with butch haircuts are opressive stereotypes and too boring" thing so much. I remember a rant on the rabidfanssuck comm ages ago by this person who basically said "the reason we have to write yaoi is because all anime women are pathetic stereotypes and the bishies are more interesting!". Pissed me off.

... What?
The thing I hate about that site is that they seem unable to talk about their love for the featured characters without bashing other females from the same series.
